Poetry becomes an experience when someone enters it.
Verseworks creates encounters that can be heard, held, entered, contributed to and taken home. Our work spans three areas: live experiences, participatory programmes and creative commissions.
Poems made live
A live poem can begin with a thought, memory, object, feeling, question or prompt. The response may be written, spoken, performed, projected or created digitally — for one person or with an entire room.
Possible formats include
- Spoken or performed aloud
- Projected or displayed digitally
- Printed or produced as an object
- Typed or written live, including by typewriter or calligraphy where the format suits the context
- Created in one or several languages
Every exchange is different because every participant is different.
Poetry performances
Commissioned performances, readings and spoken-word interventions created for openings, dinners, festivals, launches and cultural programmes.
Poetic hosting
Poets, writers and skilled moderators who can welcome an audience, introduce an occasion or guide a conversation with warmth and originality.
Poetry that remains
Some experiences leave a physical trace: a poem, publication, printed work, edition or object. The form follows the project rather than defining it.
Plan a live experience
Not sure what fits?
You do not need to arrive with a finished concept. Tell us about the place, people and occasion. We can recommend an existing format or create something entirely new.
